Lina’s Diary: A Cozy Cup of Matcha and a Gentle Heart

Lina’s Diary
Lina taking a morning walk

I woke up around 6:00 this morning.
For some reason, I felt restless and uneasy inside.
I had a dream about my old school days—things didn’t go well with someone, and I felt hurt. So I woke up feeling unsettled from the start.

Still, at times like this, I know so well from my past experience that doing my usual morning routine makes my mind completely clear and refreshed.

Loving the Gentle, Cozy Morning Hours

As always, I went to the kitchen, took out my matcha cup, and slowly made my tea.
Then I sat down on the tatami floor and just relaxed, spacing out for a while.
Before long, all my cloudy feelings completely cleared up.

For a little while after that, I just stayed sitting there quietly.
I opened the window and looked up at the sky, daydreaming.
As I did, things I wanted to do started bubbling up inside me, one after another.

First, I used the tofu I bought yesterday, added some cocoa powder and maple syrup, and made a tofu chocolate pudding.
While making it, I started to feel hungry, and by the time it was done, I was quite ready to eat.
So I carried it to my study, placed it on the desk where I always work, and this time, instead of matcha, I brewed regular Japanese tea and slowly enjoyed it.

My Work Today

While doing that, ideas for things I wanted to write on my blog came rushing in—three whole plans came to mind.
Wondering which one to start with, I decided to go with the one I had been thinking about since yesterday:

✦ In Love with Her Truth: Watching YouTuber Adelala and Her Matcha Journey →

I wrote that one, and then my motivation just grew more and more, so I ended up writing two more articles right away.
It was around 8:30 in the morning when I started, and by 11:30, I had finished three articles.
In about four hours, I was able to write very deep, rich articles, and I felt so satisfied.

In the past, when I woke up feeling down or troubled, I used to get dragged down by it quite a bit.
However, ever since I made it a morning habit to quietly start my day by drinking tea, I feel like I’ve become much better at switching my mood.

That’s why this morning tea time is so important to me.
Waking up, tidying up my room a little to make it neat, slowly drinking tea, and then daydreaming while looking up at the sky.
I love having that kind of time.

Thinking of Everyone Doing Their Best

Oh, and today I also wrote an article about Adelala, a YouTuber I love.
Well, in the end, it really just comes down to how much I love her.

Apparently, she recently launched her own matcha brand.
I have loved watching her ever since her college vlog days.
Hearing that she started an online matcha shop made me so genuinely happy.
I just couldn’t resist writing an article about it, so I wrote it earlier.

If I say so myself, I think it turned out to be a really great article.

Somewhere in the world—all around the world, really—so many girls are trying their best.
Even at this very moment, there must be girls working hard toward their dreams.

Thinking about that, while looking up at the sky in the midday sunlight, I made some cold matcha and am now relaxing slowly.

I want them all to do their best.
I want to do my best, too.
When I think about girls trying their best all over the world, that warm, cozy feeling came back to me again.

Always Wanting to Be Gentle

This afternoon, too, I want to do my work with a gentle, peaceful, and warm feeling.

In my daily life, I always want to feel warm and cozy.
I want to be carefree, completely myself, and always calm.
Just like the feeling of sitting quietly on a tatami mat.
Or like walking alone on a sandy beach by the sea, or taking a deep breath in the mountains, breathing in the scent of the forest.
That is the feeling I want to carry in my work.
That is the kind of person I always want to be.
